Masoala National Park

Terrestrial National Park classified as a World Heritage Site , dense humid forest at medium altitude 0-800 m, eastern coastal forest; habitats of local endemic red Maki vari, very rare palm trees endemic to the region, Nepenthes masoalensis, carnivorous plants endemic to Masoala. But also coral reef, habitat of sea turtles. The Park contains 50% of the fauna and flora of Madagascar.

Location of the Park

  • The Masoala National Park is located in the North-East of Madagascar and is limited to the West by the Bay of Antongil and to the East by the Indian Ocean. Administratively, the Masoala peninsula straddles the Sava and Analanjirofo regions.
