Rova: the queen's palace in ANTANANARIVO

THE rova from Antananarivo ( Malagasy : rovan'Antananarivo ), often referred to simply as the Rova , is a royal complex fortified located in the center of the Upper Town of Antananarivo , the capital city of Madagascar . Many parts of this set are due to architects that the different monarchs brought from United Kingdom and of France At xix ^th century .

This prestigious ensemble is the most famous rova , which denotes a royal fortress. The shape of the Rova of Antananarivo is roughly pentagonal. Dominating the capital from the top of the Analamanga hill, it brings together within its walls palaces including the characteristic Queen's Palace (Manjakamiadana).
